The position

You will be involved in Veltys Advisory's assignments on strategic issues related to data (pricing, discounts, network optimisation, auctions, etc.), platforms and, more generally, business models and growth opportunities.

You will work for numerous clients in a variety of sectors (health, retail, sports, logistics, etc.).

Throughout the entire value chain of an assignment, you will be required to:

• Collect different types of data
• Ensure the reliability and harmonisation of complex databases
• Analyse data, carry out benchmarks
• Make the data ‘speak’ and summarise the results of the analyses
• Build a narrative based on the analyses and draw initial conclusions
• Participate in the creation of deliverables (presentations, notes and reports)
• Lead client workshops and take part in feedback meetings

In addition, you will be encouraged to keep abreast of the latest developments in cutting-edge research techniques and to participate in events focusing on recent developments in data science.

You will be involved in supervising interns and contributing to the firm's research and development activities.

Upon your arrival, you will be assigned a mentor who will support you in your career development.

Your profile

You are a graduate of a prestigious university (X, ENS, ENSAE, Mines, etc.) or a recognised university with a specialisation in statistics, applied mathematics and/or quantitative economics (PSE, TSE, etc.).

You have a genuine appetite for consulting and customer relations, while wishing to continue to apply the data analysis techniques acquired during your training.

You are looking for your first job or you already have some experience in consulting or in a similar position within a company.

In terms of skills, you have:

• A solid foundation in statistics and/or econometrics
• In-depth knowledge of R and Python, particularly data analysis and modelling packages
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English
• You have strong analytical and summarising abilities
• A sense of teamwork, good interpersonal skills, a flair for teaching, particularly when dealing with a non-specialist audience

  During your first month at Veltys, a trainer will assist you with a 15-day tutorial on data processing and the delivery of outputs associated with the role of consultant. This tutorial will prepare you for your first assignment.

  During the first 3 months, you will be integrated into your first consulting assignment, with responsibilities including data collection and cleaning, statistical and econometric analysis, and initial production of deliverables in a wide variety of sectors.

  During the first 6 months, in addition to the responsibilities already mentioned, you will participate in client meetings, gain autonomy in drafting deliverables, and begin the training programme dedicated to new recruits.
