INDUSTRY
From factory to consumer: shaping the industrial supply chain of the future
OUR EXPERTISE
Enhancing resilience and operational performance
Against the backdrop of ‘smart’ reindustrialisation in France and Europe, industrial projects of today and in the future require a multi-dimensional approach. This is essential for tackling complex challenges ranging from operational performance and environmental compliance to investment management, resource planning and procurement optimisation. Thanks to the use of data made available through digitalisation and the IoT, it is now possible to radically transform operations with the help of Ai-powered decision-making, paving the way towards ‘Industry 4.0’. The supply chain is also reinventing itself to remain competitive and meet growing environmental requirements.
Veltys supports industry players by offering bespoke solutions that combine technical expertise with an in-depth understanding of the economic, technical, and political challenges they face.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Supporting the sector in its data and AI transformation
We help manufacturers, logistics providers and transport companies define their 3- to 5-year data strategy in line with their business ambitions. This approach draws on the entire data value chain (use cases, data management and technology) to secure the core business (by optimising operations) and innovate with new business models such as data monetisation or the creation of two-sided platforms.
Data and AI: the cornerstones of Industry 4.0
We support your transition to Industry 4.0, which improves process efficiency and significantly impacts the entire production process. The supply chain is also evolving, with monitoring, collaboration, forecasting and optimisation systems being driven by increasingly complex algorithms.
We have a thorough understanding of the challenges facing the industry, such as reducing costs and stock-outs, and improving quality and delivery times. These challenges exert constant pressure in both the B2B and B2B2C sectors.
Veltys draws on its expertise in data science and artificial intelligence to support manufacturers in their quest to capture market share and improve performance, at the heart of a more data-driven ecosystem than ever before.
OUR BUSINESS CASE
Predicting the content and date of orders placed by clients of a major French industrial company

Context
In an increasingly competitive market, a major French gas company wanted to stand out by simplifying its clients' lives. The objective was to reduce the effort required to place orders while strengthening its service promise. Being able to predict orders offers a twofold advantage: it provides a proactive and secure client experience, and it optimises production, logistics and gas storage to ensure uninterrupted deliveries. This approach also makes it possible to take early action on client attrition by identifying weak signals of disengagement.
Method
Veltys began by analysing order data to identify clear patterns: purchase frequency, volume, recurring items, and differentiated behaviour between new, loyal, and clients to watch. A segmentation was constructed based on the recency, frequency, and amount of purchases, then enriched with business variables. On this basis, two machine learning algorithms were developed: one to predict the next products ordered, the other to anticipate the date of the next order. The models were continuously tested and adjusted, while quantifying the effect of external factors such as geography or complaints on purchasing behaviour.
Results
The project successfully enabled the company to anticipate future orders, with over 80% accuracy for products and 70% for dates. Segmenting 20,000 clients into eight distinct purchasing profiles provided a better understanding of behaviour and loyalty drivers. The manufacturer now has an operational predictive tool that strengthens its client promise, secures its supply chain and improves its commercial management.
Designing the pricing policy for a platform-based freight service

Context
In an international transport market where prices fluctuate rapidly, a freight forwarding group decided to thoroughly modernise its tariff data management. Its ambition was to centralise all price information – buying rates, selling rates, spot rates – and automate its collection from sea and air carriers via EDI/API interfaces. This transformation aimed to offer more competitive and dynamic rates, as well as to provide operational teams with simple and powerful tools to build pricing tailored to each client, as part of the group's digitalisation strategy.
Method
Veltys mobilised its dual expertise in the sector and in technology to support the client. The teams worked with the business lines to co-build a new cloud-based data environment as a foundation for management and pricing applications. The data was integrated into a single, reliable database that is automatically updated using APIs and EDI with suppliers. Statistical models and a door-to-door recommendation algorithm were developed to improve the relevance of quotes and visualise price positioning in relation to the market. Finally, an application was designed to recommend optimised routes and facilitate operational decision-making.
Results
In just a few months, the freight forwarder has equipped itself with a centralised, cloud-based tariff data management environment. The automation of exchanges via API/EDI now makes it possible to offer dynamic and competitive rates, while data-enriched pricing tools provide teams with smarter and more tailored pricing. This transformation marks a key step in the group's digitalisation and strengthens its competitive advantage in a constantly evolving market.
