Veltys accompanied the French Tennis Federation in the call for tenders for the assignment of the television broadcasting rights of the Roland Garros Grand Slam tournament

Specialist in the design of this type of tenders, thanks to our expertise in both game and economic theory, Veltys assisted the FFT in all the stages of the call for tenders (construction of the lots, defining the procedure, attribution of the rights…)

On 19th July 2019, the broadcasting rights to the Roland-Garros tournament for the period of 2021 to 2023 were awarded to France Televisions (French public national broadcaster), the tournament’s historic channel, and to Amazon, the new entrant. This call for tenders marks an important turning point in the French market for broadcasting rights because it is the first time that an important lot has been awarded to a « GAFA ».

Annual revenues collected for the period 2021-2023 will increase by around 25% compared to the average for the past three years. This increase will enable the FFT to finance the promotion and development of tennis in France.

The Veltys team in charge of accompanying the FFT was composed of Violette Nahmias and Jeanne Avril.
